How Wyoming Arrests Work
Wyoming ranks as Kent County's second-largest city. It was home to 76,501 people at the 2020 Census. Its municipal force is the Wyoming Police Department, also called Wyoming Public Safety. An arrest there does not guarantee a lasting city web entry. Custody decisions vary. A person may get a citation, post bond and walk out, or be transferred. Some land at the Kent County Correctional Facility, known as KCCF.
County custody changes the picture. The official Kent County Inmate Lookup and its Web Jail Viewer are the starting point. A complete last name is required. First name and booking-date range stay optional. Results can include descriptive details, booking information, the arresting agency's charge language, and a photograph. The county promises neither every field nor a photo. A matching name proves little on its own; the county treats fingerprint comparison as the reliable identifier.
Filed charges: the issuing court controls that record. Look there for the charge as filed and its final outcome.
Where Wyoming Arrests Appear
Wyoming Public Safety publishes no daily arrest roster. The city posts no booking-photo feed either. So the right source depends on the question being asked, and official systems come first because each one documents a different stage of an arrest record.
| Channel | What it answers | Photo? | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| KCCF Web Jail Viewer | Current county custody and searchable booking records | May appear | Official |
| Wyoming Annual Reports | Agency reports and statistical context | Not a booking-photo source | Official |
| Wyoming Public Safety Records Unit | Local arrest checks, reports, and requested photographs | By request when releasable | Official |
| Kent County Court Clerk | Filed case and disposition | No booking gallery | Official |
| FOX 17 Wyoming | Selected event reporting | Sometimes agency-supplied | News, incomplete |
| Arrests.org Kent / Mugshots.com Kent | Secondary leads requiring official confirmation | May display images | Unofficial |
News sites and aggregators are not custody authorities. They skip routine arrests, lag behind county updates, or keep stale listings after someone leaves custody. This page carries none of their names or booking photos and does not endorse paid removal services.
Wyoming Has No Arrest Feed
The city's official pages cover records, local checks, FOIA requests, annual reports, and statistics. There is no daily arrest log and no same-day booking page or mugshot feed. Annual reports describe the agency's year. They cannot name everyone arrested today. Nor can they confirm who is in custody now, so the official Wyoming public-safety page is best read for context rather than current arrests.

Annual data shows trends, the county viewer shows custody, and city records hold the individual police document.
Find an Arrested Wyoming Person
A good lookup moves from the city incident to county custody and then to court. It also leaves room for a citation, a release, a transfer, or a record the law keeps closed.
- Open the 24 Hour Arrests guidance for a same-day search, or the Arrest Log for a wider booking-date range.
- In the county viewer, enter the complete last name. Add the full first name and date range when needed.
- Check whether the result actually identifies Wyoming Public Safety as the arresting agency. Do not infer the agency from a home address or city name.
- If no result appears, consider release, transfer, spelling, citation, juvenile handling, or processing lag. A blank result does not prove no arrest occurred.
- Use VINELink Check for available custody status and notifications, not as a court archive.
- Request the city report from Wyoming Public Safety or a retained booking record from Sheriff Records, then check the issuing court.
The Kent County recent-arrests hub lays out the county roster, booking-photo limits, records requests, the warrant route, and state versus federal custody. Someone sentenced to state prison will not appear on the county roster. That person belongs in MDOC OTIS.
Wyoming Police Arrest Records
The Wyoming Records Unit handles police reports, local checks, and FOIA requests. Scope and processing shape what a report says about charges. A city report captures the agency's narrative. But by itself it cannot confirm whether anyone is still in custody. Supply the legal name and an approximate date. Add the location. Include any incident number and the exact document wanted when requesting. Confirm current forms, fees, and delivery methods with the office.

For county booking custody and retained jail records, KCCF and Sheriff Records remain the sources.
Wyoming Arrests Reach Court
A jail entry marks a custody event. It quotes the arresting agency's charge language. It says nothing about how the case ends. Early stages belong to the issuing district court, depending on jurisdiction and charge level. A felony can move up to the Kent County circuit court. Its records run through the Kent County Court Clerk.
Search with the person's exact legal name. Give the date of birth when the court lawfully requests it. Match the case number and filed charge. Do not trust the booking text to stay the same. A disposition is simply the court's outcome: dismissal, plea, judgment, or sentence. Juvenile, sealed, and other limited-access matters may never appear publicly. An empty public court search does not mean no case ever existed.
Older Wyoming Arrest Records
A search for older Wyoming arrest records should start with one fact in mind. The Kent County jail viewer tracks current custody, not history. Once someone is released or moved, the listing can vanish. That does not mean the paper trail ended. Wyoming Public Safety may still hold records. So may Sheriff Records or the court. Reports, booking material, or case files connected to the arrest can remain in those offices.
For a city incident, contact Wyoming Records with the date, location, and incident number. County booking material sits with the sheriff. Keeping files is one thing. Posting them online is another. Michigan retention schedules never force an agency to keep records searchable on a public page.
Match the request to the right custodian. A police narrative, a booking jacket, and a court disposition are three separate records. A clear request to the correct office avoids rerouting and confusing redactions. An official record can turn out to be wrong. The office that owns it handles corrections. Keep a copy of whatever you submit.
Wyoming Arrest Record Custodians
One arrest in Wyoming can leave paper in three places. The city police report covers the municipal incident. A KCCF booking entry documents county custody. The court docket shows what was filed and how the case resolved. So ask the city for its report and the county for jail material instead of assuming either office holds everything.
The public viewer has limits worth knowing. Kent County does not guarantee a photo or every field on every result, and it warns that information may be incomplete or out of date. Identity rests on fingerprints, not a name match alone. That matters when two people share a name or an unofficial page shows a record stripped of identifying context.
Need a custody answer today? KCCF takes calls at 616-632-6300, option 1. Sheriff Records lists 616-632-6200. Staff can route an inquiry, though protected data stays protected. Write down when you searched, the spelling you used, and any booking or incident number, because roster results shift and those details help the next office find the right document.
Wyoming Arrest Record Custodians
A single Wyoming arrest can touch three custodians. The city report documents the municipal incident, a KCCF entry reflects county custody, and the court docket records filings and the outcome. Ask the city for its report and the county for jail material rather than assuming one office holds the whole chain.
The viewer has known limits. Kent County does not guarantee a photo or every field, and it cautions that results can be incomplete or out of date. Fingerprints, not a name match, establish identity. Keep that in mind when two people share a name or an unofficial page lacks context.
For custody questions, call KCCF at 616-632-6300, option 1. Sheriff Records lists 616-632-6200. Both lines can route an inquiry but cannot promise disclosure of protected data. Note the search time, the spelling used, and any booking or incident number, since a roster result can change before the next office looks.
Wyoming Arrest News Sources
Wyoming Public Safety and sheriff releases cover selected incidents, not a complete daily booking list. Local outlets fill in around them. FOX 17 and WZZM 13 report on the city. WOOD TV8 covers Kent County, and MLive tracks Wyoming. These outlets may add police statements, prosecutor updates, or court context. Editors choose what becomes a story, so coverage stays selective.
Third-party county pages can help pin down an approximate date. Still, every lead should end back at the county viewer, Wyoming Public Safety Records, Sheriff Records, or the court. An old third-party entry can linger after the official record changes. Michigan law offers no universal automatic deletion rule for booking photographs. For a correction, get the official disposition first. Then contact the publisher under its current policy. Skip any intermediary charging for guaranteed removal.
